We form walls with the Gates Cam-Lock system.  The system is fast, allows greater flexibility for pilasters, brick ledges and wall lengths, plus, it has 1/2 of the wall seams compared to steel or aluminum forms.  The waler and brace lumber is re-used over and over, as well as the wall hardware.  Various choices of forming plywood are available, depending on desired wall finish, and are re-used as well.  Note that we use turnbuckles to plumb our walls.  We have observed others pushing and prying (walls) while staking braces down which works but is time consuming and unreliable.  Turnbuckles allow for more precise (and much easier) plumbing of walls.  We can compete head to head with much more expensive wall forming systems.  Some residential contractors have never seen this type of system in our area, but it is very popular out West and on commercial projects right here in the Charlotte area.
